Re: Rear brake conversion?

The question here is: why? Brake performance is good enough for any street application, and some clever set service openings will make live easier. In addition, the "moving" weight is less. I would rather think about to change the disks for vented once... So if the brakes are good enough why do you...

Hi All
I have the Jaguar rear axle on my Hawk fitted with inboard rear brakes.

Re: Registering a uk car in France

I know (vaguely) somebody in France who has registered 2 Ginettas over the past couple of years.
His name is Terry Piner and he run's a company called www.frenchruralcottages.com I am pretty sure he would be happy to help.
The phone number is at the bottom of his webpage.
Good luck.

Re: Hillclimb rollbar/rollcage

Thanks Colin Newbold for that information. It is my hope to be able to run with just the roll hoop and the forward facing petty bar. I will have a chat with my local scrutineer to get his thoughts on the Historic Tecnical Passport. Thanks everybody who has replied to this post.

Re: Hillclimb rollbar/rollcage

Thanks David, I'd appreciate that.
I checked out the Thunder Road cars and it looked like a job lot from a scaffolders yard!

Re: Hillclimb rollbar/rollcage

I'm pretty certain that the rules are different for original cars. Motorsport UK (MSA) require at the moment 200 vehicles produced in a 12 month period to go into "limited specialist production class". This requires a substantial roll hoop with rear facing supports or go into "Sports Libre" which re...

Hillclimb rollbar/rollcage

After competing for the last 6 years with my Ginetta G4 in hillclimbs/sprints I fancy using my Hawk 289. The local head scrutineer for the southwest of England said he would love to see me out competing in the car but he feels that I would need a full rollcage. My question is; are there any 289 repl...
