Hi Simon,

I can confirm that this car is no longer for sale as I bought it  :-)

It is a really nice car, and well finished. I will be joining T289R so that I can get involved in the club and club events soon.

Excellent, welcome to the 289 fold.....the “classy” side of Cobra ownership...😜

Thanks for the welcome Simon.

I had for years wanted a Cobra replica, and started buying the necessary parts to build an AK Sportscars 427 Cobra replica back in 2005/2006. However, i then bought a house, got married had kids and life got in the way, so I sold the engine and running gear etc. I had bought. I knew it was a pipe dream at that time that I wouldn't be able to fulfill until later in life when the kids got older etc.

However, when I saw the BRA 289 Cobra for sale on Facebook it got me interested again, and I have to say I now much prefer the classic British Sportscar lines of the 289 Cobra compared to the pumped up muscle car styling of the 427 replicas.

Having now bought the car and had a few journeys in it I am thoroughly pleased with it. As with all cars there are a few little improvements and modifications I want to make to it to put my own mark on it, but it is a very good starting point to work from.

I have already bought an electronic ignition system upgrade for it, and will be replacing the exhaust on it shortly with something a little more classic in styling than the current system fitted.

I look forward to getting more involved in the T289R events and Forum

All the best,

Kev

Hi Kevin,
Nice looking car, well done on the purchase and I hope it serves you well.
Membership is for 12 months irrespective of when you join. The next magazine will be out before too long.
I've heard you have enquired about next meetings in your area so enjoy.
The discount code for Silverstone should be available soon and it is well worth it should you have the time.
Hope to touch base at some point.
Cheers
