Den Tanner, RIP

Post by KevinW »

I know Den took a lot of flack from purists, but he was single-handedly responsible, I think, for bringing more people into the world of Cobra replicas than anyone else.

There is a page on the Pilgrim Motorsports facebook page in case anyone wants to leave a positive message - his family are reading it.
He was the reason I got into this scene this almost 25 years ago. After his fracas with one of the Kit Car mags, things never quite returned to normal, and i know his mental health suffered.

Sad news, I didn’t know of his other “escapades” until recently. ☹️

Shame in deed.
Never met the bloke, but him and Mark Evans on a certain DVD, "A car is born", were part of the inspiration to me building mine.
Also a shame when things get on top of you and you turn to ventures that possibly you wouldn't entertain if your mind was clear. It all probably contributed in the end. Overall I think he did a great deal for the Kit Car scene. I hope he is remembered for the positives.
Thoughts are with his friends and family.
