I guess even a race car needs a VIN?

It's one of the cars assembled by Gelscoe with body and chassis built by Devon Metalcraft. My guess is its intended destination is the race track, but theres no reason it can't be dragged through an IVA and road registered. There will be a chassis number. Its no different to registering a Hawk really.simonjrwinter wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 10:45 am For the road in the UK?

I think that there would be a significant number of mods needed to get through the IVA. Modifying an Ali body is not so easy for changing the light fittings and that’s before you start on the dash plus give the engine a catalyst.
Not a cheap way to get a Cobra on the road.

Perhaps I should have qualified this question with “.....unless a lot of work is done to it”
For 280K I presume someone is only interested in the FIA race car side of ownership and not driving it on the road. I suppose if you’ve got 280k to spend, another few grand on getting it road legal and registered is peanuts!

True enough if you have that level of spending power on a recreational car a few more grand to sort it out is pocket money.
Mind you if I were spending that sort of money I would expect the wipers to park properly and they seem to have an issue with the nearside headlight adjustment. Look how one edge disappears behind the trim.
Is it basically that we are just jealous?

The bracket appears to stick out a long way for the side screen retention. However maybe during the driver swaps on long distance races they need a big enough guide to ensure that the side screen goes in smoothly upon shutting the door quickly.
