Following the thread on the New Year's Day event, I noticed Brooklands are also running he Double 12 again in 2019.

I went along as a spectator with my boy a few years a go and thoroughly enjoyed the event. Having perused the entry form, it looks like anyone with a car with a pre-1988 reg is good to enter, even some of our own plastic fantastics....or have I misunderstood the rules?
Any T289Rs fancy entering?

I do, but my partner has got Wings and Wheels in the family calendar that weekend, so I'll let you know what we decide to do.

OK Andy, Having done both, the Brookalnds event is the better one imho!
I found the 'wings' and the 'wheels' , both a bit disappointing when we went a few years ago. Perhaps the date change will mean its an improved show?

Yes that's true Kevin - I felt the wheels on the runway were a little too far away. Static displays were a bit too few.
At least there was a bit of kids entertainment at W&W though - dodgems and so on. Anything like that at the Double 12 do you recall?

Expect a new earlier date for the Wings and Wheels event this year as the Red Arrows are over in USA for two months.
So expect sometime in June/July.

Andy: my thoughts exactly a few years ago.
There is the I-Spy you can do around Brooklands and lots of other kiddy-friendly stuff at the museum. Watching the car's go up the hill as well as the speed trial tests is good fun but might not appeal to little kiddies for long periods. When i was there a few years a go, they had a kids event on the Hill climb if jnr had his own bike - winner was the one that got furthest up the hill. Don't know if they are doing that this year.
Peter: W&W is on Father's Day w/e, so clashes woth the Double 12.
