Well folks, it looks like the Le Mans Classic is the latest to be cancelled.

For anybody that had booked a ferry crossing, what have you done with your booking.  Final payment for Brittany Ferries is now due and the options seem to be:

- Amend the booking to a later date (which can't be done yet as the 2021 calendar is not up),
- Request a refund and lose all of the deposit plus 'admin',
- Pay the remaining balance with no clairity around next steps and what money is at risk

No joy there I'm afraid. Bank transfer.
I've now had a response from Brittany which suggested amending the current booking to Oct, and then when the 2021 dates are release in July, move again to next year.
I'll try that.

That's a shame. From what I've seen and heard, if you used Visa Credit card (Not Visa debit) then you can get a refund. We had booked a week's golf in Turkey where the flights and the golf/hotel were booked separately. Because the countries locked down we got a full refund from both the airline and tour operator, if however we cancelled before lockdown we would have lost our deposits for both. It would appear that if an event is cancelled you are due a refund, but if it is delayed and rescheduled then you are not.
Cheers, Clive.

Hi all,
Like Dave said, others have been told by Brittany Ferries to amend the booking online to October 2020.
The 2021 ferry schedules come out in July 2020.
Once the schedules are out you can then re-amend the booking to next year.
That's assuming that you are going next year instead of this year?
The Brittany Ferries phone number is currently suspended. (tried it this morning)
I've now amended my booking to October.

What would happen if you are unable to travel at a later date?

I guess you could keep amending it??
Interestingly when I asked if there would be a penalty for moving date twice they went straight to providing me with a credit note for my whole deposit.

Unfortunately a credit note is only of use if you are going to use it. Otherwise it isn't worth a thing. Do you have travel insurance? If you do it might be worth claiming from them. Mine would have covered my cancellation if the operator and/or airline didn't pay out.
Cheers, Clive.
