Cobra nose badge

Post by Marsh »

Seasons Greeting to you all!

My car is due back home tomorrow, following a repaint and I will therefore be spending some stolen time in the garage refitting badges and trim when I should actually be wrapping the children's presents...

...With this in mind, could someone assist me with the correct location of the front 'Cobra' nose badge please? Roger, I realise that this should be obvious, had the car been drilled to accommodate the lugs of the badge, but I am more than a little embarrassed to admit that it hasn't, so some advice on it's precise location would be very much appreciated.

Hi Lee,

The centre of the Cobra emblem on the front should be 11.5" down from the front edge of the bonnet opening.

I would also recommend that you cut the pins off and use double-sided tape to secure it. All of mine are held on that way and I've never lost any. You used to be able to get the tape from Halfords, but you only need a very small amount. I have some if you can wait until you come over.

Hi Paul

That's perfect advice, as always - thank you.

The pins are off and I've affixed the tape, so I just need the car here, which it should be tomorrow.

The Tasca badge is suitably prepared too for fitment...

Update and pictures to follow shortly...

I don't know if the measurements are different between a 289 and a 427, but the centre of my badge is 11" from the front of the bonnet opening as per the marks on the body when I got it from Gerry.

(Sorry Lee, I've just remembered that your car is a 427!)
Cheers, Clive.

(If I'm not here I'm in my workshop or on the golf course!)
