Re: Lucas L542 dual bulb conversion
Very soon Nicho and welcome to the forum.
The new yellow LED's are so bright that we've had to use an aluminium circuit board to act as a heat sink.

Hi guys,
A quick comment for any of you who are thinking of fitting the L542 coffin rear light LED conversion.
Whilst appreciating that the reflector section will still exist on the new system even with the inclusion of the indicator LED it still poses the question of what to do with the the existing separate indicator that now becomes redundant.
A quick unbolt of the Lucas L488 type rear indicator ( flatish glass and rubber through body mounting) reveals it has a body size of approx 35 mm plus the fixing holes which in my case are tapped into the fibreglass. Europa sell a 55 mm red reflector, so with a suitable Ali plate located behind the wing to reduce the 35 dia hole down to the mounting bolt size it should cover it all up without filling and respraying. Just hope the mounting bolt is long enough to accommodate Gerry's extremely thick fibreglass.

Re: Lucas L542 dual bulb conversion
With regard to the new rear lights, I was able to demonstrate a working unit to those who attended the Summer Barbecue last Saturday and the general feedback was very positive, so we're now progressing to production.
Don't hold me to this, but it looks like the price for a pair of modules to fit your existing light fittings will be around the £150 + postage mark.

Right chaps, start queuing up. The first 6 sets will be ready by the 1st July, so you could have then on your car for Le Mans. The list price will be £170 + postage! but I can give you a purchase code to reduce that to £150 + £4 postage. However, the first 6 sets will be £130 + £4 postage.
First come first served.
