289 Comp dashboard issues

Post by monster7 »

Gents,
i'm in the process of reworking my dashboard to get a little closer to the USRRC layout.
This is what i'm aiming for:

However, the distance from top of the dash to where the steering column comes out would never aloud me to put a 5'' rev counter in. Also in comparison to other 289 kit cars, i (or Hawk in general?) have much less space around the column. But it seems to me that the position of the column is clearly given by the mounting position of the brackets on the frame itself.

Any thoughts on that? Anyone with a similar layout?

Thank you and best
Ron
Edit: distance steering column to dash top approx. 3,5", total high of the dash approx 8,5"

I have the FiA layout and the tac is only 80 mm dia, the 5 inch tac is offset to the right on the USRRC cars.
