Hi Nige,
There isn't the room to utilise a flanged connection. As discussed over the phone.
Not being cryptic but sometimes it's useful for people to try and see why, rather than just get an opinion spelt out to them. Many costly mistakes are a result of opinions rather than working it out for oneself. ;)

Stu, the Sanderson Headers Carl is referring to have flanges.
Carl, did you modify them?
I'm interested as i currently looking for alternatives.

Yes, they work with flanges. I connected reducers (3 to 2,5 inch ) to them and than welded a 2,5 inch exhaust system together.
Loosining and tightening is a bit difficult, you have to work from the top and from the bottom.
If you would have stayed for the Sunday at the Ring you could have seen them!
