When I drive with the tonneau fitted I just roll the driver's side back and tuck it behind the seat. It works fine at motorway speeds. No need to fit anything in the middle.
That works because Clive has short legs, bless him
Original Cobras had 3 ferrules in the door top, whereas the Hawk sidescreen only has 2 Legs, but there's nothing to stop you adding a third ferrule Simon and making that the centre support for your tonneau. That's what I've done and it definitely helps.

I can't tuck the tonneau behind the seat and wear the 4-point seatbelt, Clive, do you not have a lap belt?
I manage to fold the tonneau into the roll hoop, which has the advantage of working as a wind baffle reducing some of the draught to the back of the neck.
