Thanks again, I've just Re-read the post and I think you're right sounds like doors were being set whilst upon the stands....then they didn't fit when lowered which makes more sense

In my opinion, unless you are working on the suspension, then stands should be placed as close as possible to to the wheels so as to replicate road conditions ie., under the king pins and under the live back axle.
All chassis cars flex, next time you drive your car put your finger between the gap at the top of the rear of the passenger door - you will be surprised!
