Wiper switch switch wiring

Post by simonjrwinter »

I seem to remember having a wiper switch issue with my first cobra build 25-ish years ago.
I’ve had a “normal” Lucas wiper switch which works fine, but have changed it for a rotary (TR6) switch. Now, as far as I can tell, the switch works in a completely different way.with the terminals wired like this...

Off. 2 & 3. Connected
POS 1. 2 & 4 connected
POS 2. 4 & 1 connected

I have been told I might need a change over relay to make it work. I have one, but can anyone advise me if I indeed do, and if so could someone give me a wiring diagram?

It’s driving me nuts and has taken 3 days so far!

I fitted a TR6 switch without any issues and wrote an article for the club magazine. I will look to see if I can find it.
