Here is a quick how-to guide on embedding images in a forum post using Flickr. This assumes you've already got a Flickr account and have uploaded a photo you wish to share.
Click on the images below to see bigger versions.
1. Go into Photostream:
2. Click the photo you want to share to bring it full-screen:
3. Click on the 'sharing' arrow on the bottom right:
4. Click 'BBCode'. Some code will appear - copy this to your clipboard using right-click/copy, or CTRL-C:
5. Go to the forum and create a new post. Paste the code you copied from Flickr into the post:
6. Submit, or Preview your post:
That's it! Try it a few times and it becomes easy. Post any questions below and I will refine this how-to guide.
HOW-TO: Post images to this forum using Flickr
Re: HOW-TO: Post images to this forum using Flickr
Using the above, when I post the picture doesn't come up, only a link. Help please. Also, the link shows all pictures in my library???
Cheers, Clive.

Hi Clive - seems to work for me. Do you want to give me a ring one evening and we can talk it through if you've still got trouble?

Thanks Andrew. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but at the moment Imgur seems to be working fine so I'll stick with that just now. With your image above, if I click on your name I can access your complete library and that's not something I want for my pictures. (Perhaps that is something you can edit out, I don't know.)
Before all the stramash with Photobucket, I tried to access Flickr to see, and vote for, the Club's anniversary photo competition but gave up on that too.

Sure - what works for you is good!
Regarding the second link thing, that's easy to change. When you paste it into a forum post, it is actually three links - one to the picture, one to the photo title, and one to your Flickr site. The third link is supposed to give the owner of the photo a credit for taking it. But of course you can remove that easily. Each link is enclosed in a pair of 'URL tags'. Think of them as complicated brackets surrounding some code. A link starts with this:
And it finishes with this:
So when you paste a link into a posting, you just need to identify the first pair of URL tags and everything else. Scan along the line looking for [/url, then delete the rest:
Cheers,
Andy

By the way - if you click this link, are you able to vote on the photos in the competition? (You may need your Yahoo/Flickr login): https://flic.kr/s/aHsm3bg1REclive wrote: Before all the stramash with Photobucket, I tried to access Flickr to see, and vote for, the Club's anniversary photo competition but gave up on that too.
Re: HOW-TO: Post images to this forum using Flickr
If I click the above link I see the photos, but can't see how to vote.
Cheers, Clive.

Oh - I see! All you need to do is wave your mouse over the photos you like, and click the star at the bottom right-hand corner. You can vote for as many as you want.
If you've not logged in with your Yahoo/Flickr account it will ask you to do so when you click your first star.
Cheers,
