Thanks for the support in the ongoing discussions with DVLA. I have now received a new VIN Number to be stamped on the BRA chassis. – Half a result as they voided the original 1968 MGB GT registration and will issue a new registration on completion of an MOT and payment of the licence fee. The major issue is they will issue a Q plate unless I can provide an invoice for the purchase of the Cobra kit from BRA. Unfortunately the car was built over twenty five years ago.
BRA have long gone unless someone has the archived information?
The car look great it’s a real time warp having covered only 11 miles since its MOT in May 1992. The paints not in great condition however chrome work show really patina!
Would post photos, if I could work out the process. Neil

Hi Neil,
It will be difficult to get an invoice for the kit purchase but on balance the DVLA have been fairly reasonable I suppose.
You should consider joining the club, on £35 / year at the moment and you get loads of discounts and the great magazine.
Pictures available to post via the attachment tab but that maybe a members privilege too

Strange - I am a member but have two user names!

Good Progress Neil. These people still exist on the internet - http://www.bra-cars.com/html/289.html
I believe they acquired BRA but never sold any kits. Perhaps they have some records.
After the Peter Ibbotson years I think BRA was owned for a time by a boat builder near Maidstone who made replica Daimler Darts on the same chassis.
Best Wishes DavidA
