Re: Chassis Corrosion Protection - What do you use?

Thanks Migge - I do like the look of your wheel arch extensions. Would love to see some more photos of your car and how you built-up the arches if possible?

Did you start with a standard slab side BRA body?

Re: Chassis Corrosion Protection - What do you use?

Thanks for all the responses. Most appreciated.

I have now ordered some POR 15, primer and rust converter from Frosts.

After my engine rebuild I am pleased to say I don't have any oil leaks, at present :-) I'm sure that will change with time though!

Chassis Corrosion Protection - What do you use?

Hi All, I have a Mk1 BRA which has a couple of localised areas of surface corrosion on the chassis. I want to clean the chassis and paint it to protect it from corrosion. My car isn’t a garage queen and I like to use it as much as possible, including during dry winter days. What paint or rust protec...

Re: BRA 289 FOR SALE

Very nice BRA. I also have a Mk1 BRA which was completed (by a previous owner) in 1990. As your car is a 1981 car it must be one of the first made, with an early serial number.

Nice looking car, and for sale at a very reasonable price for the specification. Best of luck with the sale.

Re: WANTED: Cobra Le Mans Rocker Covers to Fit Rover V8

I have contacted John Redmond (JRV8) and got a price for his rocker covers. However, it wasn't John that made the Cobra Le Mans rocker covers my friend has. His covers look much more original than the ones that JRV8 offer. I will keep searching. Thanks for the help though. Whengparts.com are the che...

WANTED: Cobra Le Mans Rocker Covers to Fit Rover V8

Hi All, I have a friend that has a nice set of "Cobra Le Mans" rocker covers on his BRA Cobra Rover V8 engine. He advised me that he bought them from guy who made small batches of them on one of the Cobra forums several years ago. Can anyone help supply of a set of these covers, or put me in contact...

Re: BRA 289 for sale on FB

Thanks for the welcome Simon. I had for years wanted a Cobra replica, and started buying the necessary parts to build an AK Sportscars 427 Cobra replica back in 2005/2006. However, i then bought a house, got married had kids and life got in the way, so I sold the engine and running gear etc. I had b...

Re: Black 289 BRA Mk 1 Cobra - Help Tracing Original Builder

Thanks Mark I am really pleased with the car, and after making a few adjustments to the carburettor it is now running really nicely. I have just bought an ignition upgrade from RPi Engineering, so will be fitting that over the Christmas break. Thanks for the offer of help / assistance. I appreciate ...

Re: BRA 289 for sale on FB

Hi Simon,

I can confirm that this car is no longer for sale as I bought it  :-)

It is a really nice car, and well finished. I will be joining T289R so that I can get involved in the club and club events soon.
