Thanks for the responses, at least I'm not being unrealistic!
By the way I dont seem to be able to respond to private messages at the moment.

Re: Lowering my FIA

My springs had the lower 3 leafs separate, only the 3 top ones were held by clamps / cleats, so I just reassembled them in a different order.

Re: Lowering my FIA

I removed the 3 lower leafs, inverted them and mounted them on top of the main leaf, no lowering block required.

Messing with leaf springs

I had never been happy with the rear leaf springs on my BRA289, I started with 6 leaf GT springs which gave a ride height way too high. Next I took out the 3 lower leafs, good ride height but too soft and gets spring wind-up on acceleration (that gets your attention!!) So I've been running with the ...

Perished tires - BRA289

Hi everybody I have 205 70 15 Avon Turbospeeds on my BRA, one of the fronts has some small cracks developing due to age. Although it has passed its MOT the fronts need to be replaced, I'm not spending £230 on Avons again, and I'm wondering if the car would look better on 185 - 15's which were probab...

Re: Bra steering prob

Hi
If its any help, I have a "build manual" for a BRA289 MkII, it contains instructions for the modifications and dimensions for the steering rack, I would be happy to send you a PDF copy , its rather a poor manual, but is all that exists.

Re: Lurch - But not the Adams Family Type!

Hi, my BRA289 did the same, I had removed some leaves from the rear springs to get the ride height, this however allowed the torque reaction of the rear axle to wind up the springs even with anti-tamp bars.I kept replacing leaves one at a time until it stopped. I did consider installing some of the ...

BRA 289 Hardtop

Hi Everybody
I would like a normal (not FIA) hardtop for my BRA 289 MkII.
Does anyone have one they would be willing to sell, or are they available to order?
Cheers

Re: BRA 289 Manual

Hi Frank
I have one I can scan for you, I guarantee you will be disappointed! its several sheets of grubby paper but its all you got then.
Is there anything in particular you need or is it just for completeness?
If you PM me an email contact I'll use that.
