I will let you know when I test drive with heater valve open. Last test drive, heater closed, when I think all air was bled out, it behaved itself whereas prior it would have shot up in temperature which I put down to air (steam at that point). Think I fixed it just filled radiator again, took off top hose and filled shoved back on, turned heater valve off and temperature behaved itself. Will test drive tomorrow with heater valve on.

Think I need find some bleed valves to pity in

Just had another look and I can't see why moving the bottom hose coming from Harrison header tank to 6 inches before pump housing will make any difference ? I understand from car builder solutions it must be as close to the water pump as possible which is where the current return is it uses the same...

Migge Been doing some reading and yes it would appear the bottom hose of the Harrison header tank should go to the bottom hose of the radiator just before the water pump. So first thing to do is buy a tee piece for the bottom hose and plumb correctly. But do I need an expansion tank as well ? Found ...

Just put a thermostat in as it runs too cold in winter.
Same expansion tank as mine above. Will have a drive later maybe it'll work as a birthday present today !

Test drove it today, was going nicely, warmed up to 82 thermostat opened drove all the way to Sainsbury at 75 then pulled in and a trail of water behind...gauge shot up and dumped more water out. After shopping drove home fine (4 miles) then it dumped a little more out. Cooled down expansion tank 1/...

Hi all No the performer manifold only has the front take off for water temperature all the others are vacuum take offs. I think I got all my air out by lifting front of ca,r filling MG V8 radiator through plastic cap (see pic) leave expansion tank cap off then running then filling radiator again. Bu...
