It is electronic, I have one of those pertronix conversion kits fitted and the coil was a black epoxy "flame thrower '

Ignition coil failure

I was on the motorway the car started losing power and eventually stalled, had to get a tow home. my ignition coil had failed, swapped it for a spare and all was fine. But is this just bad luck or is there something else that may have triggered the coil to fail.? A quick google told me to check the ...

clean up the battery terminals sounds like a bad connection, or flat battery

Having a garage clear out, I have brand new unfitted hawk hood bows and sticks. I also have a salvaged bonnet with scoop, and two doors with hinges . Bonnet hinges, some other bits and bobs i will list later

connector on starter

I am trying to work out what type of insulated connector is the mating half for the spade connector on the
12v solenoid trigger , as it keeps popping off.
It is a Racemettle high torque for RV8, the black plastic shroud looks
like it has a matching locking half for the spade lug.

Now it looks like my flywheel is not standard Rover V8, and therefore not meshing correctly, problem is how can i find out what
flywheel i have without more dismantling. Will the part numbers of the old starter motor help?
they said it could be a tvr or denso and that might be the problem.
