Cost of 289 in Australia

Post by Mitchell94 »

Hi,

I'm looking to get a 289 kit sent to Australia (Brisbane). I'm still pretty new to this and would like to see if anyone could give me some tips, cost figures or experiences. Thanks

Check out the Hawk Cars website.
http://www.hawkcars.co.uk/
Are you looking to build the car or buy a completed one?
Either way you will have to jump through the hoops of registering a kit car in OZ.

Hey,
Glass or Al body?
Approx budget?
There is a new completed Al bodied Kirkham for sale in VIC for $190k AUD. (Looks a good deal once you add it all up)
Am just guesstimating but I think a high quality new 289 Hawk glass body would be around $100k AUD all up, this would be due to our dollar exchange rate, importation taxes/costs, 10% GST, engineering etc.
