It's that time of year when I have to re-new my insurance for the Hawk. Currently it has an agreed value of £50k - street Hawk 289, 289 engine, top loader g'box, sorted live rear end, coil over adjustable front, hard top all in tip top order (the only benefit of lockdown).
the question is, am I miles out or 'there or there abouts'.

Hi Frank, I think you're about right.

Re: Agreed value
Personally I think that’s not far out. I would have suggested 45-50.
Knock off a bit for mine having a Rover engine means I have fallen behind again at only £42k.
I would have to hunt out Gerry’s advice a couple of years ago on the suggested differences model to model, engine to engine.
Of course there was a certain car recently on offer at 60k.
There must come a time where the insurance company is not interested in upping the value regardless of the cost of building another one. After all we are putting miles on the car. Patina eventually becomes something that’s worn out.
Difficult situation bearing in mind the value of an original.
