Wire Wheels

Post by Homewood »

I have a BRA 289 with MGC 15" wire wheels fitted. I want to buy some new chrome wires that extend the track i.e. with the offset on the outside.

Has anyone suggestions where best to buy them ? and perhaps some picture of what they look like ?

Regards
Tony

Tony,

Motor Wheel Services, Slough....................look on their website for 6" x 15" Cobra wheels. I think if you look back in the thread on tyres I gave a part number and a cost.

Tony,

Correction, you need to look at the thread on spinners, the wheel details are in that.

Hi Tony

Also look in the technical section of the forum and look at my front suspension upgrade, you will see photos of the 15inch wheels there, and an option to extend your track too.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the advice, did you ever alter your track ? If so do you have any details on method ? or pics ?

Regards
Tony.

Hi Tony,
Go into the "Technical" area of the forum and open the "Front Suspension Upgrade" topic. It's all there. If not PM Bill (Kaiserbilly 1)

Just spoke to a guy in Middlesex, Phil Hallewell who makes wire wheels...

http://pjhallewellengineering.co.uk/index.html

Not sure how long he will last with India taking over but he quoted me £235 per wheel for steel reverse laced 6x15 or 6.5x15 wires. He takes blank rims and makes them up according to what offfset you want...Seems you might get what you want but a little dear.

has anyone heard of him ?

Tony.

Hi Tony,
Did you ask if he could alter the offset on the wheels that you have? This could be a cheaper option.
Cheers, Clive.
