Can someone please explain what a wiki is?
Cheers, Clive.

Is that not what the forum is?

Yes - that's pretty much it.

A wiki is a collection of information that (in our case) any club member can edit. Some of the same information appears in the forum, but finding it amongst the chat is difficult. The wiki is a distillation of that information into a more usable reference.

With forums, you often get erroneous information as well - someone posts something, then someone posts a correction or some more accurate information, and it can be hard to work out what the truth is. With the wiki, a couple of people in the club have agreed to lightly 'moderate' anything that goes on there to make sure it is accurate and relevant. Hopefully this means it is a more useful source of information.

Is it too complicated to have a general video button?
Hi catsx11 - have added a 'video' button as well now. This should work for Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion and so on.

The dedicated Youtube button is probably more reliable if the video is a Youtube one, since Youtube streams can come from various different URLs - it is the video ID that is most important. So if you post something that doesn't work with the video button, try again with the Youtube one and hopefully it will be ok.

Cheers,

Andy

Actually - forget that. I've just discovered the 'video' button code I used doesn't work! We'll have to stick to the Youtube one for the time being until I get time to figure out what is wrong.
