Yesterday afternoon I had to take someone to Edinburgh Airport for 5 pm, (Middle of the rush hour) over the Queensferry Crossing and main road in/out of Edinburgh. Normally at that time of the day I would expect the journey to take about two hours each way, but yesterday it was just over 90 minutes there and back! It's a pity there is still loads of salt on the roads otherwise I'd be out in the 289!

Sadly, my car won’t be any different after lockdown as it lives with my (slightly!) over-70 Mum!

I hope the new figures and predictions are giving the muppets who didn’t do the whole social distancing thing food for thought. It’s getting properly scary now. 😳
Stay safe everyone.

Bearing in mind we are not allowed to go anywhere (so no quick circuit in the Cobra ) can I remind everyone to rotate their wheels to prevent flat spots.

Exactly.
Lots of people under 60s in ICU in London now due to foolish behaviour last week. I think we'll be following the Italian curve for at least next few days, hopefully the effects of lockdown will start to take effect then.

News not good last night. They now expect the virus restrictions to go on for 6 months. Obviously we will wait for news from each organiser but expect events beyond July to be affected.

Personally I think it will be much, much longer until things get back to how they were just a few weeks ago. Possibly as much as several years. Those vulnerable amongst us are going to have to practice social distancing and cleanliness ( hand washing etc) until such a time as a vaccine or treatment is available to target the virus as it will be circulating amongst the population from now on. “Herd immunity” will prevent outbreaks, but there will always be the chance of coming into contact with someone with the virus. Life will never be quite the same for all of us in one way or another. The country (and the world) will be feeling the financial effects for decades.

Yup, pretty much sums it up. :(
I have seen some work where thy are inoculating people with tiny amounts of virus to get an immunological response that doesn't put you into ICU(!), as severity appears to be due to the amount of viral load (how much infected CVD-19 droplet dose you breathed in).
