Re: Fancy a brand new Ford Escort Mexico?
I used to own a MK1 Mexico......type 49 shell, fully seam welded, 6 (maybe 7) point roll cage, steel bubble arches, K/O Magnesium Minilites, turreted rear suspension, World Cup X member full harness belts, twin 40's, the list goes on and on...a proper "tool"...sold it in 1982 for £1,300 and thought I'd done quite well!!!!!!

I think that an original Mk1 Mexico would command over £50k these days. MST was quoting £35k just for a group 4 Shell.
All comes down to how high is the spec and of course the fact that it’s all hand built/ assembled just like a works car would have been. I hate to think what a current works WRC car costs - north of £250K I suspect. Then the drivers rip them apart on the stages.
