Last night I attended a “Technical tour” of the Biggin Hill Heritage hangar with a bunch of pals from the Essex TR register. Not cheap at £150 per head but what a night! A full tour (2 groups of 5) of both hangars by a Spitfire pilot and an engineer with access to all the planes (2 Hurricanes, 8 spitfires) and the ability to look at all the started restorations (4 fuselages “in build”) and those awaiting their turn (at least another 4!!)
A truly fabulous experience lasting nearly 4 hours and topped off with them starting a Spitfire in the dark on the apron for us (and getting to push it back into the hangar)
Absolutely fantastic, would highly recommend it!

Re: Spitfire tour
Looks great - is this the same outfit that were featured on a Channel 4 spitfire resto series?
