Despite the weather’s best(worst!) efforts, I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. It was great to have Trevor Legate at the Classic too.
Even having been there from doors open on Friday until close of play on Sunday, I still didn’t see everyone, go everywhere or do everything I wanted, and certainly didn’t get enough piccies!

My journey home was horrendous, as soon as I got to the gates the heavens opened, and with heater on to clear screen, windows open to let heat out, sat in the first traffic on the A43, I was stung on the arm by a wasp! Took 10 minutes to get to the services 1 mile ahead in agony, no First Aid available, so had to make do with Savlon from WH Smiths! 😡
Stopped at Dad’s for tea & watched GP, then back into the deluge.
Darkish now, I hit some unseen water a foot deep at 30mph, and the bow wave came right over the front of the car, knocking the passenger side wiper off! Aquaplaned completely onto opposite side of the road, thank God no-one was coming the other way! Worst moment in 15,000 miles of Cobra-ing! 😱 Fixed wiper at a closed petrol station, so at least I didn’t drown whilst doing that, and managed to get home at around 1am, but had to unload car immediately to allow contents to dry! Head hit pillow at 2:15am...💤💤💤💤
Next year has to be nicer... right?!
( Been saying that for 10 years now!🤔 )

Soak a handkerchief or suchlike in vinegar and press on wasp sting to neutralise the sting. :P
Cheers, Clive.

Nik,

Your return trip sounds horrendous.

I think you might find the remainder of this year's plaques in the box with the previous years' ones, where I put it when tidying up on Sunday pm.

John
