T289R South East - The Hub at Bodiam, Sunday 12th July

Post by John Coward »

We are planning to meet at The Hub, Quarry Farm, Bodiam, East Sussex TN32 5RA at 11am on Sunday 12th July for a coffee and lunch if you are so inclined.

Although The Hub Classics met here on the second Sunday each month pre-Covid 19, with other classic car owners, they’re not planning to restart until the autumn. However the Hub café has just re-opened. Please contact me if you are coming. I will be there but not in my Hawk unfortunately, as some electrical gremlins persist. You can admire my Toyota plug-in.

Nearby attraction: Bodiam Castle, but the Castle itself is still closed. This is the most well preserved moated castle in the whole of England, and well worth a view from the outside, but at the moment you have to pre-book if you want to visit!

Hope to see many of you at The Hub.

Regards, John

Weather is looking good for Sunday so barring unforeseen circumstances, I hope to be there too in the Hawk.

If everybody comes who has emailed me to say that they might, we will have eight Members!
Usually I only get about 2.
What is the magic about The Hub at Bodiam?
Come and find out.

Looking forward to it. I’ll be in a Land Rover but looking forward to meeting other T289R members for the first time and seeing/ chatting about cars as I start my journey to ownership.

Nice to meet everyone today at The Hub
John, I hope you got home with less excitement than your trip down!
Nice drive down there, the car behaved impeccably both ways. It’s an absolute joy to drive.
Hope to see you all again soon.

Yes, thanks, Simon, I got back safely with only 4 wheels left. The offending tyre does not seem to have a puncture or other damage but I think that the silicone seal covering the spoke heads in the wheel well has started to break down after 20 years.
