Stoneleigh Show

Post by KevinW »

Heard a rumour that Stoneleigh is back on and back to MayDay weekend.
Anybody able to confirm this?

Hi Kev,
Yes its been advertised by TKC that it is 1st and 2nd May.
We haven't had correspondence from the organisers yet.
Are people interested in me asking about the option for an indoor display for the club (as we did a couple of years ago?)
It is the 25th anniversary of the club and the 60th anniversary of the Cobra!

Have heard that the former top event was the last 2-3 years just a shadow of itself.

Last year was pretty poor to be fair Migge but the May event was cancelled as a result of Covid and it was held in August at fairly short notice.
Its one of them, if you don't support it then you can't complain if it disappears!

Last one I went to (not last year) was a bit disappointing, but the one before that was terrific in the glorious Mayday sunshine.
Subject to weather, I plan to be there. Not sure you'll want an unpainted 427 shape on the stand, but an indoor spot with an NEC-style display would go down very well in my opinion.

Kev, all members are welcome. I for one are not snobbish about any Cobras. The club is home to all and all are welcome!

That't true Stu,

I was at Stoneleigh each year from 2002 to 2012. So it's 10 Years ago. In these years it was great. At the CRC field you could count on Sunday 150 + Cobras sometimes!

(Belatedly) happy new year all. I've never been to the Stoneleigh event so would very enjoy if a bunch of us turned up. Given it's a special Cobra year - and because we've missed so much over the last couple of years - my philosophy is to get to as many events as possible!

Hi Howard. Are you still planning on going as we have space indoors for a handful of cars, as well as the outdoor Club area. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
