East Anglia is celebrating (Not the) Drive It Day on Saturday 22 April 2023

Post by bevan »

Dear All

East Anglia will be celebrating (Not the) Drive It Day on Saturday 22 April 2023 in aid of NSPCC’s Childline® (the day before the official FBHVC Drive It Day on Sunday 23 April).

Why not join us? Bring the family!

We discussed possible routes at the EA gathering at Ravenwood Hall last month and the consensus was to have a run to the seaside similar to last year. The plan is to meet at Dunwich Beach Car Park from about 10.00 when the cafe opens, for a fry-up and a chat, to be followed by a drive leaving about 11:30 (or whenever we're ready) southwards through the back lanes to Aldeburgh, then northwards along the coast road to Thorpeness then back up to Leiston where depending on the weather and general consensus, we'll either visit the Long Shop Museum or head on down to Sizewell beach. Or both....

If anyone's still hungry at this point the Sizewell Beach Cafe is open or you can pick up fish 'n chips from Seahawks on Sizewell Road.

If you'd like to check out the route for our drive, which we've kept reasonably short, as some people will be travelling some distance just to get there, click the link below and you can see it on Google Maps.

Route distance is ~22 miles.

Many thanks to Keith Wilkins for planning and checking the route.

Hope to see you there!

With best wishes

Byron and Valerie
