Front brake pads

Post by simonjrwinter »

My car has Gerry’s billet front brake setup (which I understand are Hi-Spec) with no servo. While the brakes are adequate, I’ve always felt they could be improved to give a little more “bite”.
Can anyone recommend pads they’ve used in these calipers that have made a difference? This is purely a road car that I don’t drive too hard so am not looking for pads that only work well when “ up to temperature”
Hi-Spec have several different pad mfrs listed, from Ferodo to EBC.
Any advice appreciated

hi Simon,

I have found Ferodo DS 2500 pads to be more than adequate on my 289. Good bite from cold and no fade when used heavily. Some might claim Green Stuff or Red Stuff pads are best but I tried them once and felt they were not as good as Ferodo when cold.
Cheers, Clive.
