We’ll despite fitting the (slightly) more substantial bump stops and winding the springs up even higher (the rear of my car was higher than every other Hawk at Silverstone by some margin) I’m still getting contact on really big bumps. I think the only option is stronger springs. Does anyone know what rate are supplied as standard by Hawk as well as the specs of the springs? Has anyone tried progressive springs?
Thank you

Simon

Hi Simon,

Gerry recommends 400lb springs. Mine is standing quite tall at the back but I just need to fit some helper springs to lower it slightly. No problems with bottoming out (yet).

Dave, is that 400lbs each or per pair per side?

We’ll after a couple more substantial “hits” on the way to and from Silverstone last weekend (yes, that is a shaving of metal in the last picture!) I’ve decided to fit 450lb springs along with helper springs and even bigger bump stops. The ride on the car at the moment is really comfortable (probably too soft for some) and while I expect it to become firmer I hope it doesn’t ruin it.
Distance between tyre and chassis is approx 2”.

New springs (450lbs) helper springs and seats for between the two. Will be fitting them over the next couple of days.

Can I just check the spec of the helper springs you chose Simon.
Cheers.
Dave.
