Hi,
Anyone know someone who can do this for me ? I don't have a sheet bender and the BRA engine bay has a few small bends needed and I suspect a professional would do a better job than me !

Re: Engine Bay Aluminium Covering
I saw that Jon Towers used these people so kept a note of the URL:

I guess their template would not fit your BRA, but they might be able to advise?

Or, you could just do what Cpt Johnston did and spray it with aluminium paint.
Works a treat and fooled Gerry Hawkridge
Clive, can you provide a photo ???

Cheers Clive...
I must say it looks very good ! and certainly provides an easier option, I see the Hawk has the same shapes that would need bending as the BRA.
Thanks again

For silver paint that looks very convincing, Do you know what colour was actually used, or how that effect was achieved? was it lacquered?

Re: Engine Bay Aluminium Covering
Just your basic bog standard Halfords Aluminium spray paint. Quick rub over the fibreglass with 400 wet & dry and spray. No laquer
Cheers, Clive.

Re: Engine Bay Aluminium Covering
I bent them myself using two pieces of timber and two G clamps. 1mm ally with plastic coating on one side. Templates made from wallpaper lining paper cut out. I did make a mess out of one but remade with the remainder of the sheet.
1mm ally is so easy to bend. When cut and riveted in place, peel off the plastic coating and et voila, scratch free engine bay lining.
