Intake dimensions

Post by agnoraan »

Can anyone tell me what the distance is between the two water inlets on a small block Ford for a quad downdraught intake is please? Does anyone on here run an intake like this that might be able to tell me? Please excuse the rudimentary drawings
Thanks in advance

Hi Andy,

Are you taking them "off" off, or just off. :?

Nige,

Colin (OCD) also runs that style manifold, but with the IDA Webers.

I'm considering the possibility if putting Webers on mine, for no other reason than they look fantastic. The intake manifold for the Big Block FE tilts the carbs in towards the centre by a few degrees, which adds an extra level of "coolness". 8)

Thanks Andy, I'd appreciate that if you wouldn't mind. Paul, the Webers would be the finishing touch to yours, along with the single screen and black wheels

Just 'off' Paul
New camshaft going in.
Recommended cam to go with Webers had 216/218 duration at 50 thou. Not much left above 5000rpm so decided to change it for something with bit more duration.
They will be going back on!!

Glad to hear it Andy. :)

While you've got it in bits, drop those red & blue anodised fittings into some over cleaner gel (http://www.lakeland.co.uk/4972/Oven-Mate-Cleaning-Gel). They'll look so much better. :D

Nige
Measured my manifold this morning - 5 inches (about 126mm). So for some reason slightly different to Bernie.
My maniflod is a one off, but I am using a fuel log supplied by Jim Inglese which can be used with the IDA manifold suggesting the dimension is about right

Paul

Something like this. :D
