Seat Runners

Not a highly technical bit but.....
having spent the best part of this afternoon really snooping around the car, measuring bits up, discovering what the remaining switches do etc etc i looked at the seats to discover that the passenger seat is slightly lower than the drivers.

Further inspection revealed that the pax one is "fixed", ie bolted to the deck. Now the drivers one is on runners, so i was trying to see what type or sort of runners they are..... but to no avail.

According to some blurb [journalist review] he "...sunk into the stuffing of the traditional Cobra buckets and as a result..."

The drivers side has a single pivot lever angled at 90deg neatly under the seat , the cobra seat runners seem to have a full bar across.

Am i missing something blantently obvious?.

Not sure what your question is. There are many different runners you could use. Are you looking for a recommendation for the passenger side? If so I'd leave it without. I ended up removing mine for the extra headroom.

Easiest way to find out what the runners are would be to undo the fixings from below and take the seat and runners out. " traditional Cobra buckets" aren't necessarily Cobra brand seats. In fact they probably aren't. Hence the confusion with the runners and what they should or shouldn't be like.
I've got runners on both driver and passenger but have never adjusted them. I'm a short arse and don't need the headroom.

so are there specific runners for "traditional cobra seats"

I think that StubieC has answered it - take them out and see - will do.

I also do not need the extra headroom, being a short arse.

One Stewbie cruising very close to the limit there... anyway a full head of hair in a Cobra creates a lot of unecessary drag.

Yes, take the seats out and see what they've used, then match up from the wide variety of aftermarket or classic car seat runners available.
Don't bother thinking about getting the original style, as there are none available anywhere on the planet in the sub-$5000 bracket. Trust me.

I've got an unused pair of low profile runners if anybody is interested. Bought them in a fit of madness from Holden (I think) many years ago but then realised that since I was the only one to drive my car that they were a waste of time. PM me if you are interested.
