Re: Cobra rear lights LED conversion
Thought I’d share some pictures of the rear light LED conversion I carried out the other day. Pretty straight forward, followed the comprehensive instructions that came with the LED boards and they were done within a half hour. I used a dremel with a small disc cutter to cut the original backplate in half to enable removal without bending up the small tabs. The small tabs were then tightened down onto the light itself and the board slid in and tightened down....job done!

I can confirm that the LED conversion is so much brighter than the tungsten bulb even when fitted with a highly polished reflector. It has got to be an important safety factor on today’s crowded roads.
You will need to ensure that your earthing is good at the rear of the car as the LED’s use so little power that any high resistance in the earthing can cause issues.

Fitted some myself a few weeks ago. Much better and avoids the need for DB10 relay. The kit comes with a sounding relay which is quite hand when top down to remind you to cancel indicator. Cheers. J

These lights were originally commissioned and specified by Paul Blore, he helped Spiyda develop them a couple of years ago.

I was under the impression that Spiyda were already producing LED tail lights/indicators and had been for some time. I was told that they did the R&D and manufactured these and added them to their portfolio.
