Camshaft change

Post by peterc »

Has anyone performed a camshaft change on a Rover engine in situ with the Hawk chassis. It looks like the engine might need to be raised a little to get the cam past the cross bracing.
Any comments?

Not sure of the difference Peter, but the cam comes out with a Ford engine in place. Just clears the cross brace. Also have a tool that screws into the camshaft to make it easier to remove.

Thanks Andy. I would assume the camshaft is in approx same place, it’s just I wanted to be prepared rather than get half way and then realise I need to disconnect the exhausts to raise the engine a inch or so.
