Next time I see your car at a show I'm going to pop a couple of metric bolts in the footwell and watch from afarRoger King wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 7:23 am Not one metric fastener anywhere on my car, Clive. Pretty much all the smaller fasteners on a Cobra are BA.

Won't work mate, the Whitworth steam-powered force field will automatically eject them.
Re: Correct style washer bottles
There must be a metric fastener somewhere. Alternator perhaps?
Cheers, Clive.

Alternator? ALTERNATOR? RHD Cobras did not come with alternators.

I had already decided against a glass washer bottle as advised by Roger besides I don’t think an FIA car would have used that type. A photo in a suitable Cobra book showed the Lucas 5SJ so that is what I have mounted. Word of warning if buying off Ebay. Ensure you look very closely at the photo to ensure the item is correctly made. My retaining strap was out of position and I had to adjust it.

Re: Correct style washer bottles
I wouldn’t have thought an FIA car would have a washer bottle of any type, surely?
Re: Correct style washer bottles
I’m sure they must be a time that they would have to clean the screen other than in the pits.
You may well be correct but of course it is a legal requirement for me to be able to cdrive on the road and at least it is lighter than a glass unit albeit larger than the the previous plastic one I originally made do with.
I had tried to find an under bonnet photo of an FIA without success.
