L542 rear lights

Post by simonjrwinter »

I noticed the other day that one of my rear light lenses had cracked. Like a fool I decided to take them apart and superglue the lens together until I could order a new one...

Needless to say, upon dismantling, the plastic lens was completely FUBAR’d and while trying to reassemble it, first the screw holes in the plastic crumbled away and then the metal ‘tang’ on the chrome holder broke off leaving me unable to assemble the light

Looks like I won’t be going to the local car meet in the Cobra tomorrow!
Where’s the best place to buy a new pair ( makes sense to get two!)
I’ve got the LED boards so will need to transfer them over.

Simon, when fitting the LED light board you do need to be very careful with the tabs and only prize them up the minimum amount needed to slide the board into place. You aren't the first to have issues dismantling and reassembling these lights probably not helped by sh1t steel.
