Hi Peter,
Was not aware, that your engine has roller rockers mounted. Good article in the CRC magazine.
I guess John Eales was the best decission for your RV8. He is the No. 1 expert on Rover.
Roller rockers
Re: Roller rockers
Hi Migge,
Thanks for your comment, glad you liked the article.
The roller rockers are a new addition and following on from JE modifying the heads.
I basically didn’t like the look of the previous rockers which although confirmed as genuine didn’t look very well put together. Too many horror stories on the TVR web site convinced me not to take any short cuts.
There is another article in the 289 mag on the rolling road experience.
A comment by another member about always using genuine OEM parts was proven.I won’t say any more to avoid spoiling the article.

Re: Roller rockers
I have only just rec’d my Snake Torque magazine so hadn’t realised that both of my articles have been published.
Not sure what Valerie has planned for the 289 mag.

Re: Roller rockers
Hi Kevin,
It was Harding Auto Services at Knaphill just west of Woking.
I had heard of their name for some time but had no idea they had a rolling road.
If you decide to use them be warned that the access to their site is up a narrow piece of road easily missed between two hedges. Suggest going into google maps and selecting satellite view to confirm what you are looking for.
I would certainly have the confidence to use them again.
You get a print out at each stage of adjustment e.g. each time they do a run.
As they say that’s what you are paying for - its to show you the improvements.
As per the article I am amazed at the gain in BHP just by changing the distributor cap. There was no obvious signs of an issue looking the cap. Had I not embarked on having the carb tuned following the head mods I would never had known. Heh, you never know I might even get some more mpg as well.
