I have V-rated Galaxy 235s up front and 255s on the rear. Have done less than 100 miles on them, but my limited experience is that they are very good - I haven't tested them to the limits of grip. Key difference between Galaxy and Avon tyres is the tread pattern: the Galaxy is a tad modern, whereas the Avons have a nice period zig-zag. Whether that and the slightly stickier compound (if you drive near the limit) warrants triple the price is up the buyer.nikbj68 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 8:57 pm Some have mentioned Galaxy R1 tyres, available from Northants tyres: http://www.northhantstyres.com/
No Personal knowledge of them.
NB Galaxys are only available in a 60 profile, and not every tyre in the Galaxy range is V-rated.
However, I dont think you will find any bad reviews on Galaxys or Avons, so each to his own.
