Spare Wheel 289

Post by Chris Pendry »

Although a little way off I plan to purchase new wire wheels for my 289 build
I understand the standard rim size is 15” x 6”
As I already have an good painted Wire Wheel in the garage I wondered if I could utilise this as my spare to save me buying a whole set
It is however a slightly different size 15” x5 (think it’s MGC)
Firstly is this allowed to be slightly narrower being the occasional spare and also how would the SVA view this
Thanks Chris

Do you need a spare wheel for IVA?
Cheers, Clive.

I just thought that as most new cars don't have them, why do kit cars?
Cheers, Clive.
