Front Springs

Post by Chris Pendry »

Can anyone suggest the correct front springs to use on my Hawk 289 build
I’m using a standard Mgb set up with lever arms
I understand Chrome bumper Roadster front springs but there seems to be a couple of options
AHH 6451 pre’72 Roadster
BHH 1225 post’72 but still chrome bumper Roadster

I've got a pair that I used for my build before I swapped over to the tubular wishbone set up (which I'd recommend) You can have them if you arrange collection and make a donation to Hillside Animal Sanctuary.

Many thanks for the offer Stu but new are only around £30 a pair - I was just after the correct part number/size to order

Morning Stu
I’m using a standard Rover SD1 with Lt77 gearbox
I’m afraid a strict budget for the build so cannot stretch to the double wishbone set up just yet - maybe an option later on..?
Perhaps it would make sense to take up your kind offer - I’ll check out the courier option and pm you this week
Regards
Chris

No problem. If you donate a bale of hay for £5. You can have them. I don't want anything for them and if it helps feed some rescue animals then I'm good with that.
They will also be better than some new Chinese ones for £30.
With the standard MGB set up you just need to be mindful of the indicator minimum height as you don't have any ride height adjustment.
