I'm ready to fit my side screens but I don't have a template or any other diagram for the Hawk. I bought the car in 1998 and don't have all the up to date manuals everyone else may have. My plan was to go down to see Gerry but I'm a bit impatient and have too much time on my hands. The original AC Cobra 289 Lift The Dot (LTD) fastener positions don't match up for my tonneau and I'm assuming, soft top. I have tried searching the 289 Register forum but failed miserably.
Could anyone let me have the measurements for the LTD fastener at the door and relative position of the screen rear edge. All kit is Gerry supplied.
From the tonneau markings I have the first LTD fastener 2.5 inches out from the inside of the tub and 1.0 inch back from the top of the door way.
Does the extended plate on the side screen eventually push into the flaps on the soft top?
IN?
or OUT?
Sorry about the picture rotation. I've tried contra rotating but..
Cheers,
Stu

Now that is interesting - very prescient - thanks for posting!
I have also discovered that MOSS Part No 805-170 side curtain socket will fit original sidescreen pins, and costs rather less than Europa prices.
originally for Healey/MG, they do have a slot in the top, which might offend some folks.

Re: Side screen fitting Hawk 289 HELP!
They're great thanks, Simon. Once I'd worked out which way up.
I had a good measure up session this afternoon so a bit more comfortable with drilling.
When I have the side screens in I'll be happy to fit the roof.
Does your side screen bottom overlap inside the door at all?
The tonneau I have has seven studs each side almost equally spaced, does that seem similar to yours?
Cheers,
Stu

Great photos thanks. Good detail for me, I'll be doing mine tomorrow.
Your car is looking very smart. The sidescreens are impressive now they're trimmed.
Have you driven it with the top on?

No, neither with the sidescreens in place. Will be a new experience for me.
