Bodyshop recommendations in Hants/Berks/Surrey area?

Post by amulheirn »

Hi all,
I think my car is ready to be painted after the London Classic Car show, so I wondered if anyone had a recommendation local-ish to me? I'm near Farnham, which is bordering Hampshire and Surrey and not far from Berkshire.

I did have a couple of options nearby. Unfortunately one was very expensive, and the other doesn't seem to want to give me a quote - presumably they are just too busy to take it on.

Cheers,
Andy

Have you thought about Nigel here in South Wales?
It would be worth the trip.
No idea how busy he is at the moment?

Yeah - that would have been nice and we did talk about it, but he's not able to do it at the moment.

Andy, if you’re able to wait and agree a date, Nige’s work is top class. Highly recommended 👍

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys👍. At this point in time, I'm really not sure if I'm going to remain working where I am now. It's a long involved story, but the gist is, that back last year, I was successful in getting a job as a lecturer teaching body and paint in a college. Due to Covid, I declined the offer. I qualified as a lecturer nearly 20 years ago, but a position never came up, theres only one college here doing these courses and it seems it's a job for life.

However, I've been approached again and asked if I was available, and I was told that the college might, and it's a very big might, depending on whether the one lecturer retires this year as hes indicated, they may be recruiting again before the new term in September. IF that is the case, the head of the dept at the college has said the position could be mine. I really dont want to mess anyone around, so it's best not to take on any big jobs incase I'm offered a job in the college. If there's a repaint on a Cobra in the system, I couldnt leave until it was finished, which could stop me starting the new term at the college, I'm sure you can see my dilemma.

Wow! that's great news for you Nige.
BUT! bad news for the rest of of us.
You will be needing project vehicles for the students presumably. :-)
I might have one that needs painting black and gold. LOL ;-)

Hi Kev, as I said, it's not cast in stone, I just have to wait and see what happens. I assume that if I dont hear about the college position by September then, it's not going to happen. I just don't want to mess anybody around due my my uncertainty, hence giving the explanation above.

Didn't mean to force your hand into revealing personal news Nige - sorry about that. I was only looking for alternative recommendations local to me really.

Hope it all works out for you, however things turn out.

Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andrew, Richard Stubberfield used F H Ellis ( ask for Fintan) and was happy to recommend them. They are near Hook / Odiham.
