Vented brake kits

Post by Keith56 »

While I've got the front end stripped down to fit one of Gerry's tubular wishbone kits I thought I might upgrade the brakes with a vented disc / 4-pot calliper set. Has anyone fitted Gerry's latest kit? Any idea of the calliper and/or disc weights?

Gerrys 4 pot Calipers are aluminium and the disk will be similar weight to any other disk.
I've not heard of any negative reports and have fitted a couple of sets with no issues.

If you wanted to save some weight then BGC ( Gerry’s brake parts supplier) sold me a Willwood 4 pot set up with Ali bells to mount the vented disc. From memory the disc is 298 mm dia which is the largest that fits inside an Alloy wheel.

Thanks guys, just trying to get that combination of modern function and 60s looks. Actually there was nothing much wrong with the old brakes but hey, our cars are for fiddling with, aren't they? I've now kicked off the order with Gerry.

Cheers

Keith

Stop press! It seems Gerry's current callipers are iron, so I'm back to the drawing board.....
