Glove box lock

Just bought a glovebox lock from ah spares anyone know how it is supposed to work ?

Not sure that is the same design as mine. Mine merely rotates a thin plate to latch behind the return edge of the dash.
The latching plate is held on with a screw to enable it to be removed for adding the retaining nut holding the assembly into the lid.

Thanks Peter just figured it out, it doesn't rotate it pushes in and turns it was just new so very stuff to push in. Thanks
