If you need to remove the rack and ball joints get one of these.

Roger is bang on with the other advice.

Thanks chaps! Just checked and when I pull back on the wheel the steering arm under the bonnet moves so perhaps something loose in the rack.

Correct!

That's because its set up for Metric use! :roll:

For Imperial use the bolt needs to be screwed in from the top! :mrgreen:

getting back to steering wheel and boss,there was mention of a collapsable boss for the IVA can anyone elaborate.thanks in anticipation.

I'm not aware if you require a collapsable steering wheel boss for IVA if you use the Hawk offset steering column between the steering rack and MG column. (I might however be wrong).
I do know that one member, Will Gyles, did incorpporate one for SVA. Perhaps you could contact him for more information.
