perspex side screens

Post by Fireball »

Last job on the rebuild is fitting side screens on the old Dax. The hood looks fantastic and is a really good fit - however, the side screens I got from Dax are too big so I was thinking of binning the velcro / metal covered side screens with home made perspex ones. I was thinking of getting them to hinge off the windscreen but that would mean replacing the wind wings every time I wanted to fit the side screens. Has anyone done this before?

Cheers
James

That's how Dave Brookes at DB Replicas does his side screens for his Le Mans style hard top. He also fits small rams that connect the top of the door to the side screen so that the screens open up as the doors are opened.

Talk to Dave and he'll tell you all about them. http://www.v8cobra.com/home.html

I've bought some hinges from finishline ( http://www.finishlineaccessories.com/p- ... dware.aspx ) so I'll get some polycarbonate and fabricate some home made screens. I don't think I'll go down the 'slot-in' door original approach.
