Nige, remember that in Modsports anything goes.
So a raw Ali dash would be more than acceptable. Also helps to kid others that the whole car is made the same.

By the way I thought you were meant to be getting on with finishing other jobs to start the big project. Or is this just practising?
Based on the photos of this I can see a queue forming for Ali parts.

This is something that's been on the cards for quite some time, as the dash in the car was really horrible and it irritated me every time I got in it. I'm going to make one for Owains car and I've promised one to another club member for his FIA, so I guess this was a good practice run.

. A few people have said to leave it raw ali to show what I've done, but to be honest, thats not what this is really about. It's far more important to look right and pleasing to "my eyes". It was always going to be black, but having trial fitted it, it does add a nice contrast to the cars interior. I need to think about this.........

Hello, this looks fantastic! Great job!
I like the look of the ali but however would paint it black.

Oh no, needs another toss of the coin for decision making.
I thought it was only me with a middle name of prevarication.

All down to personal choice Nige. I like the aluminium, and I like the black, but I would be concerned about glare from the ali.
Cheers, Clive.
(If I'm not here I'm in my workshop or on the golf course!)

There wouldn't be any glare Clive as I don't intend to run it without the roof, which is smooth on the inside and painted aluminium colour, so it would tie in with that. At the moment I'm thinking raw ali and then paint it satin black if I get bored with it or don't like it.

I would be interested in a "how to" or build log for this...very nice work!
